It is notified for the information of all GCWP-PGET aspirants that the admission to the various Post Graduate programmes of the GOVT. COLLEGE FOR WOMEN PARADE GROUND JAMMU for the Academic Session 2018-19 shall be made on the basis of the Composite Merit comprising the Academic Score and the GCWP-PGET-2018 Score.
The Entrance Test (GCWP-PGET) shall be held for admission in the following subjects:
Post Graduate (PG) PROGRAMMES:
English, Home Science, Music, Zoology and Computer Science (MCA)
b) Entrance Test : 20%
M.A (English):- For admission to the programs, preference will be given to the candidates who have passed/appeared in B.A (Honors) in English or who have English Literatures as the main, elective or additional subject irrespective of whether the examination passed in Arts, Science or Commerce Stream, with a pass percentage of 50%. A candidate who has passed/appeared the qualifying examination without English Literatures subject may also be considered, subject to the availability of seats, left vacant, if any, provided she has record a minimum of 60% in qualifying examination.
M.Sc. (Zoology):- The candidate who has passed in final year of Bachelor Degree Examination with Zoology as one of the core subjects in all the three years with minimum 55% marks.
M.Sc. / MA Home Science: - first preference shall be given to candidates who have passed B.Sc. home science as subject in three years with 50 % marks. Candidates having 50 % in sociology and Economics may be considered subject to availability of seats.
MA Music: - Candidates who have passed BA with Music as subject in three year and a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination.
MCA: - candidates seeking admission to thiscourse must have passed BCA/ B.Sc. in computer Application / B.Sc. IT with minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

Exam Pattern
The question paper shall have 120 objective type questions of one mark each and the duration for the entrance test shall be 2 hours. The contents of the paper and weightage there shall be as under:
a) General English : 30 questions
b) Gen. Knowledge : 30 questions
c) Reasoning : 30 questions
d) Numerical Ability : 30 questions
Selection Process
The Composite Merit for Admission shall be calculated as per the Weightage given below:
a) Academic Merit of the qualifying examination: 80%b) Entrance Test : 20%
